(Pronounced: Boo-Fah-Doo)
One of the pleasures of autumn & winter is to light a fire and play with it to obtain the most beautiful flames and the best room temperature. In patois, "buffadou" means "instrument to blow". It's a hollowed spruce branch used to direct air to the exact place the fire needs to be rekindled. We found the Bouffadou in Cantal - one of the more remote regions of France. The technique is from the middle ages.
